Public Affairs & Political Consulting
Pathway Advocacy Group advises candidates, organizations, and community leaders on the relationships, politics, and process that determine whether an initiative advances.
Meet the Founder
Lori Brown is a public affairs and constituent services professional with a decade of experience working alongside state, local, and federal government. Her work spans legislative affairs, advocacy, public relations, and building the community networks that get results for people.
As Director of Constituent Services for California Senate Republican Leader Brian W. Jones, she led the team that helped San Diego County residents navigate state agencies and resolve the problems that mattered most in their lives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her team helped roughly 4,000 families in the district work through unemployment claims, and she was asked by the Governor's Office and Cal OES to support Listos California, the state's emergency preparedness campaign.
Lori is known for her relationships with state, county, and federal leaders, and for building teams that grow programs and create a positive office culture. She founded Pathway Advocacy Group to bring that same approach to candidates, organizations, and community leaders across California.
“My goal is to help someone every day, and to feel confident every evening that I made a difference in people's lives.”
Pathway Advocacy Group provides strategic counsel and advocacy support. The firm does not provide lobbying services.
What We Do
Every engagement is scoped to the decision in front of you, not selected from a menu.
Strategic counsel for candidates and committees: message, timing, coalition, and the execution discipline that determines the result.
Positioning and narrative for organizations that must be understood by policymakers, partners, press, and the public, with one consistent message across all four.
Identifying allies, mapping opposition, and building the coalitions that give an initiative the standing to advance.
Rigorous analysis of the legislation, regulation, and agency process shaping your outcome: what is moving, who is driving it, and what it means for you.
Planning and execution for fundraisers, community forums, and donor events, from guest strategy and program design through disciplined follow-through.
Independent counsel for leaders and boards facing decisions with public, political, or reputational consequence: options framed, risks named, a course recommended.
How We Work
We begin with the actual objective rather than the stated one, and define what must be true twelve months from now.
We identify the decision-makers, the influencers, the obstacles, and the timing that will determine the outcome.
We develop the strategy, the message, and the relationships required to advance the initiative.
We remain engaged through execution, adjusting as conditions change, until the decision is made.
“Few initiatives fail for lack of a good idea; most fail for lack of a path.”
